Kodachrome Basin, as its name implies, is a spectacle of massive sandstone chimneys changing in color with the day's mood. In addition to hiking, horseback riding and mountain biking in the park, visitors should plan to visit the nearby Grosvenor Arch. This intricate double arch, located just 10 miles southeast of the park, is one of the most impressive in the state. The quiet, beautiful campground offers modern facilities in a desert landscape.
Millsite State Park also offers access to excellent off- highway vehicle and mountain bike riding areas. Fishing is popular year-round. Visitors can also enjoy one of the most majestic golf courses in the State of Utah at the adjacent Millsite golf course. From picturesque desert views to a magnificent waterfall this course is sure to be a challenge and can make for one of the most entertaining rounds of golf you'll ever experience. Some challenges include tee shots shooting over cliffs and a par 3 rated one of the toughest holes in the State. The popular and beautiful 20 site campground rests at the south end of the reservoir, and is a local favorite.
Otter Creek State Park is a perfect destination for ATVers, boaters, and birders. The park is a quiet, out-of-the-way respite located in south central Utah. Year-round fishing and boating on the 3,120-acre reservoir are the park's featured activities along with convenient access to three ATV trails, including the popular Paiute ATV Trail. During the spring and fall, many types of birds pass through Otter Creek on their journey along the Pacific Migratory Bird Flyway. The campground is located on the southern end of the reservoir.
Play 18-holes of golf, paddle or troll on Palisade Reservoir, then set up the perfect campsite. This park offers something for everyone, from its desert canyon golf course, RV and tent camping, to access for off-highway vehicle riding in nearby Six-Mile Canyon. Summer recreation includes camping, fishing, swimming, electric motor and non-motorized boating, golfing, and hiking. Off-highway vehicle trails are accessible from the park. The 18-hole golf course has some of the best putting greens in the state.
Boasting some of the warmest water in the state and a mild winter climate, Quail Creek Reservoir lures boaters and anglers year-round. Spend a day on the water or visit a nearby state or national park, then retire to a campsite in a spectacular red rock desert setting. Quail Creek State Park provides excellent year-round camping, picnicking, boating, and trout and bass fishing in sunny southwest Utah. The campground has beautiful views of southern Utah's famous red rock country.
Hike to 200-million-year-old dinosaur tracks, boat and fish on Red Fleet Reservoir, and camp or picnic in a campground overlooking a sandstone and desert landscape. There are 29 campsites at Red Fleet, all with tables, grills and firepits. Sites 19-21 in the campground have electrical and water hookups for your convenience.
This high elevation (6,000 feet) park provides great year-round fishing. Warmer weather, water sports including water-skiing, swimming, sailboarding and sailboating are popular. Ice fishing, cross country skiing, and nearby snowmobile trails are popular activities during winter months. Campgrounds offer developed, primitive, group and boat-in camping.
With its warm, blue waters and red sandstone landscape, Utah's newest state park is also one of its most popular. Boat and fish on Sand Hollow Reservoir, explore and ride the dunes of Sand Mountain with an off-highway vehicle, then camp in either the full hookup westside campground, or stay close to the action and ride your OHV from your site to the dunes in the new sandpit campground. Three campground areas ranging from full hookups to primitive camping.
Scofield State Park is situated 7,600 feet above sea level in the Manti-LaSal Mountains of the Wasatch Plateau. The 2,800-acre lake offers excellent boating and year-round fishing. During winter months, the area serves as a base for snowmobile and cross-country skiing in the spectacular mountains surrounding the park. Three state-owned facilities are available. Mountain View, located six miles north of the town of Scofield, offers a 34-unit campground, modern restrooms, hot showers, fish cleaning and sanitary disposal stations, group use areas, and boat launch ramp. Madsen Bay, located on the north end of the reservoir, is a popular area for groups and family reunions.
Snow Canyon State Park features red Navajo sandstone, capped by an overlay of black lava rock. Photography, hiking, biking, horseback riding, and camping are popular activities. Early spring and fall use of the park are especially appealing due to southern Utah's moderate climate. 14 RV sites with water and electrical hook-ups and 17 multi-use campsites make up this great campground set against a stunning backdrop of towering sandstone cliffs in red and white, and peaks and valleys of jumbled black lava rock interspersed with serpentine sandy washes.banquets, receptions or retreats.
This park is popular with anglers, boaters, and those using Starvation as a base camp for nearby off-highway vehicle riding. The annual walleye fishing tournament has become a popular fishing event with trophy 10-plus pound fish being caught each year. The scenic beauty of 3,500 acres of park land, many coves, remote beaches and unusually blue water makes this a favorite of boating enthusiasts statewide. Mountain View and Lowe Beach campgrounds offer hookup sites with shower and restroom accommodations. Primitive camping is available at several locations around the lake, these areas offer no services.
Sandy beaches, swimming, boating and waterskiing top the list of activities at Steinaker. Anglers enjoy fishing year-round for rainbow trout and largemouth bass. Located in the heart of Dinosaurland, the park is seven miles north of Vernal, just off Utah Highway 191 in northeastern Utah. Off-highway vehicle riding areas are nearby. 31 Campsites offer many opportunities for RV and Tent campers.
Utah Lake is unique in that it is one of the largest freshwater lakes in the West and yet it lies in an arid area that receives only about 15 inches of rainfall a year. The mouth of the Provo River, where it empties into Utah Lake, was undoubtedly a very popular camping place for the early inhabitants of Utah Valley. The campground is located on the east side of the lake. Newly renovated facilities include four boat launch ramps, marina, boat slips, courtesy docks, modern restrooms, visitor center, showers, campsites, a fishing area for the physically challenged, and sewage disposal and fish cleaning stations.
Wasatch Mountain State Park, in beautiful Heber Valley, is both a summer and winter destination. Soldier Hollow, the 2002 Olympic winter venue is located at the park's south end, and is open year-round for summer and winter activities, including biathlon, cross-countryskiing, tubing, mountain biking, and hiking. The Cottonwood loop has sites with full hookups and sites with water and power only. Mahogany loop is all full hook-ups. Oak Hollow has electricity and water only. Tents are only allowed where indicated. All loops have restrooms with showers.
Willard Bay is a freshwater reservoir located 12 miles northwest of Ogden on the flood plains of the Great Salt Lake. An earth filled dike and natural shoreline make up the 20-mile enclosures. The North Marina is 15 miles north of Ogden, just off Interstate 15. The newly renovated facility offers campsites, modern restrooms, hot showers, sewage disposal station, seasonal/transient boat slip rentals and sandy beaches. The South Marina is eight miles north of Ogden. It is open April through October and provides boat launching, seasonal boat slip rentals, modern restrooms. This 24 site area offers full hookups for RV's.ern Utah's famous red rock country.
The Lake is perfect for boating, swimming, water-skiing, windsurfing, picnicking and year-round fishing. Anglers enjoy vying for walleye and yellow perch. The Oasis Campground is the most popular area in the park. This area offers many trees and manicured campsites with centrally located restrooms and showers as well as a few RV hookups. Beach camping is available and reserved on a maximum capacity basis on the North Beach and West Beach areas of the lake. The North beach is known for its soft sand, enjoy one of the best beaches in the State. West beach while not as sandy as the North offers waterfront camping and a great spot for fishing. While camping on the beaches you will have access to vault toilet facilities and a few shared fire pits on the beach, there is no drinking water, shade or grills on the beach so please bring your own. Painted Rocks is located on the Levan side of Yuba Reservoir. This campground has its own boat launch, drinking water, and vault restroom facilities. Each site has a covered table for shade, a table, grill and fire pit. Eagle View is located on the East side of the lake. This campground has only been accessed by boat, however new for 2013 4x4 vehicles will be able to access these sites for a new way to experience this area of the park. Camping Cabins are located near the Oasis group site and can accommodate 6 people.
