Hidden Falls is a picturesque waterfall located up Big Cottonwood Canyon. The parking lot for the trail head is located 4.4 miles up the canyon just off the "S-Curve". From the parking area the trail heads north and requires you to cross the canyon road.
Once across the canyon road the more difficult Mill B North Fork trail begins to the east, and Hidden Falls is located directly to the north. You can access the falls by staying to the east of the creek, or our preferred route is to cross the stream. There is a large log that is placed across the stream, which we like to believe is for this purpose. Please keep in mind this will require walking across this with balance, and the log is approximately 3 to 4 feet above the stream bed. There are several viewpoints of the falls, take your time and find the route the fits you and your family the best.
The hike to Hidden Falls is approximately 0.3 miles with very little elevation gain making this hike kid friendly. Plus with the added bonus of the falls the kids will not be disappointed.
Hidden Falls is also a quick getaway close to the Salt Lake Valley. If you're in need of a relaxing location to clear the mind, and to get a break from all the hustle and bustle of city life, try this hike. Find a location to sit and enjoy the beauty, and the sounds of the great outdoors. The box canyon enhances the sounds of flowing water, which is known to help relieve stress and relax you.
No matter what time of year you choose to visit the falls each and every time will provide a different unique experience. From the ice covered cliff in the winter, to the roar of spring runoff, or the late summer trickle of water, Hidden Falls will always be one of our top places to visit in Big Cottonwood Canyon.

If you choose to visit the falls in the winter months, please keep in mind that access will be more difficult due to snow and ice. If visiting in the spring, although the creek is smaller compared to others in the canyon, runoff will still make the creek very dangerous. Use caution around all streams and rivers during runoff season and keep children close by.
