Shady river canyon with walk-in tent camping near the popular "Wall Street" climbing area. Jaycee Park Campground is located 4 miles from the junction of U.S. Highway 191 and Utah Highway 279. The campground has 7 shady walk-in tent sites. The Portal Hiking Trail starts at the campground. Wall Street, a well-known climbing destination, is also very close to the campground. Campsites are available on a first-come, first served basis. There is no water available, but there are toilet and waste facilities. From the center of Moab (at Center and Main) head north to Utah Highway 279, which is just south of the Arches National Park entrance. Turn left (west) on Hwy 279 and drive 4 miles. You will see The Jaycee Park Campground on the right.
Located next to a lake, the Ken's Lake Campground affords great view of the Moab Valley and can accommodate even the largest RVs and campers. Ken's Lake is located 10 miles south of Moab. The campground accommodates even the largest motorhomes. Hiking and horseback trails originate at the campground. Fishing in the reservoir is a popular activity. Boating on the reservoir is limited to non-motorized craft. The views from the campground feature the La Sal Mountains and the redrock fins surrounding Moab. Campgrounds have picnic tables, vault toilets, grills, graveled roads, and trash receptacles. There is no drinking water at the campground.Campsites are available on a first-come, first served basis. Two group sites can be reserved online by clicking here. Ken's Lake is located 10 miles south of Moab. To get to Ken's Lake, drive seven miles south of Moab on U.S. Highway 191. Turn left (east) and follow the signs approximately three miles to the lake.
"The kings Bottom camping area is located 3 miles from the junction of Highway 191, and is suitable for tent camping and for small RVs. Campsites are available on a first-come, first served basis. King's Bottom has 10 designated campsites. Toilet facilities are available. There is no water available, however the campground is only 3 miles from Moab where numerous sources are available. All trash should be packed out." From the center of Moab (at Center and Main) head south to Kane Creek Road (between the burger King and McDonald's) turn right (west) on Kane Creek Roan and drive 3 miles. You will see King's Bottom on the right just past the Moab Rim Trailhead.
The five group sites at Lone Mesa are ideal for large gatherings such as weddings, large school groups or family reunions. The sites are isolated from other campsites to allow for privacy. Within close proximity to national parks and open space, outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy hiking, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, and four-wheel drive tours in the surrounding area. Lone Mesa is 1,000 feet higher in elevation than Moab, which sometimes means cooler temperatures. The town of Moab is approximately 30 minutes away and has dining, shopping, sports rentals, tour companies and museums. From Lone Mesa there are multiple options for mountain biking, hiking, scenic tours, backcountry off-highway vehicle driving and photography. The area has many four-wheel drive roads leading to canyons and vistas. Nearby Canyonlands and Dead Horse Point State Park have many trails for hiking, biking and OHV driving. Arches and Canyonlands National Parks as well as Dead Horse Point State Park are very close to this group site. Groups heading into Canyonlands to ride the White Rim trail often use this site for camping before and after their trip. Lone Mesa is also near Gemini Bridges and Mineral Bottom. From Moab, drive nine miles north on Hwy 191 to the intersection with Hwy 313. Turn west on Hwy 313 and drive eight miles, then turn right on the Dubinky Road and go approximately 200 yards to the campground entrance road. Turn right and proceed up a small hill to the site.
Campsites with spectacular views of the Colorado River that accommodate tents only (no trailers or large vehicles). Individual sites are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The campsites offer more secluded sites and beautiful views of the Colorado River canyon. Elevation 4000 feet. 7 tent sites near the Colorado River. Convenient to Arches, Canyonlands, and the other delights of canyon country, this campground makes an excellent home base for extended exploration.
“The Sand Flats Recreation Area (SFRA) near Moab, Utah is a nationally significant public lands treasure at the heart of the Colorado Plateau. A high plain of slick rock domes, bowls and fins, it rises in the east to meet the colorful mesas and nearly 13,000 foot peaks of the La Sal Mountains. Bordering the area on the north and south are the canyons of the Negro Bill and Mill Creek Wilderness Study Areas. Further north lies the deep gorge of the Colorado River and Arches National Park.Sand Flats' famous Slickrock and Porcupine Rim bike trails and almost 40 miles of jeep trails are world-renowned for their combination of challenge and awesome scenery. Sand Flats is also popular for camping.
Nestled between Scenic Utah Highway 128 and the Colorado River, the Upper Big Bend Campground is popular with climbers visiting the Big Bend Bouldering Area a short walk away. Upper Big Bend Campground is located 8 miles from the junction of U.S. Highway 191 and Utah Highway 128. Upper Big Bend is suitable for tent camping. Campsites are available on a first-come, first served basis. There is no water available. From the center of Moab (at Center and Main) head north on U.S. Highway 191 to Utah Highway 128 just south of the Colorado River. Turn right (east) on Hwy 128 and drive 8 miles. You will see The Upper Big Bend Campground on the left.
Shady riverside camping for tents and small trailers. Near the popular Poison Spider Trailhead, the campground enjoys beautiful views of the scenic Colorado River Canyon. Williams Bottom Campground is located 5.5 miles from the junction of U.S. Highway 191 and Utah Highway 279. This 17-site facility is located in between the Wall Street climbing area and the trailhead for the Poison Spider four wheel drive route. Campsites are available on a first-come, first served basis. There is no water available. There are toilet and trash facilities. From the center of Moab (at Center and Main) head north on U.S. Highway 191 to Utah Highway 279 just south of the Arches National Park entrance. Turn left (west) on Hwy 279 and drive 5.5 miles. You will see The Williams Bottom Campground on the right.
