This dip is a great for parties, family get togethers, or an everyday snack.

The first part of this recipe is time consuming, but worth the effort and you will see why.

Deboning the Smoked Trout:

Smoked Trout Dip Recipe

Nobody wants a trout bone in their dip, so this first step is very important to insure no bones are added to your smoked trout dip. The way I chose to make the trout as boneless as possible it to squish the fish between my fingers and remove all the bones I find. I wear a pair of thin rubber or vinyl gloves for this process for a couple of reasons. One, for sanitary reasons because I’m handling the fish a lot, and two, I don’t want my hands to smell like smoked fish for several days. Once you remove the bones you will need one cup of the boneless smoked trout for this recipe.

Okay, once you have your trout deboned the next step is to cut up some green onions. These are added for flavor and on top of the dip as a garnishment.

Smoked Trout Dip Ingredients:

1 Cup of Sour Cream

1/2 Cup of Real Mayonnaise

Chopped Greed Onion (Scallions)

1/2 teaspoon of Worcestershire Sauce

You can spice up your dip by adding garlic powder, or pepper.

In a small mixing bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, and Worcestershire Sauce and blend together. Add 1 cup of smoked trout to the mixture. At this point, I choose to mix in some green onions, and add them on top as well.

This dip tastes great immediately, but it's even better when chilled before serving. Allowing time for the trout dip to chill brings out the smoky flavor of the trout.
